Welcome
UPDATE 9-9-11
Due to issues at the State level, mainly budgetary, the process of acceptance is taking longer than expected. Know that we are doing everything we can to open in 2012, and we expect to know more before month's end. When we receive the good news from MDE and our authorizer, watch for fundraising events and consider donating to Sejong for a strong opening in 2012. Thank you for your continued support!
UPDATE Spring 2011
Earlier this year, our Board submitted a "Letter of Intent to Apply" to our chosen authorizer, which was accepted, giving Sejong the chance to apply. After much research and writing, we submitted the actual application on June 1st. Thank you to all who supported the board through this process! We should know by the end of the summer if Sejong Academy of Minnesota will open fall of 2012. Please send your positive thoughts to Sejong Academy!

Our group of board members and other volunteers are in the process of preparing an application for a Twin Cities Charter School for Korean language immersion. We will apply for a Korean language immersion charter school in the central Twin Cities area this winter. We are applying to open a K-4 school in September, 2012 in the Twin Cities. We will add a grade every year until we reach K-8; eventually, we hope to go through grade 12. We are very excited about the potential for this school.
As a charter school, it will be a public elementary school, free and available to the public. Having this resource will allow children to learn a foreign language at a young age, when it is easiest to learn languages. It will also encourage children to appreciate the beauty of differences in people of other cultures and races. In the case of children of Korean heritage, this school will offer a stronger connection with Korea, her language and culture.
We are seeking volunteers to help with various tasks for getting the word out to community members, making connections, and various other tasks as they present themselves.
If you can spare some time and energy for this worthy cause and would like to get involved in the process, or if you know of someone else who might want to help our initiative, please contact our board at the e-mail address listed below.
If time is not something you can provide, please consider supporting our volunteers' efforts by providing a financial gift.
We appreciate your participation!
