Ms. Paw was born in Burma but raised in Thailand, Mae La Oo refugee camp and moved to the U.S in 2014. She is studying at Metropolitan State University, majoring in Early Childhood Education. ”I love working with little kids because they give me so much joy and happiness. During my free time I love hanging out with my friends and spending time with my family.”

Hyokyung Kwak 곽효경

Ms. Kwak's journey abroad commenced in 2017 when she traveled to Wales, UK, to study English. During her time there, she was captivated by the various teaching methods employed by educators. In 2019, she pursued her studies in Early Childhood Education in the United States. Driven by a desire to explore education on a global scale, Ms. Kwak embarked on a program in Comparative and International Development Education at the University of Minnesota in 2022. Her future aspirations include establishing a school in an underserved area, where she can offer a curriculum that fosters students' potential and nurtures them into global citizens.

Jacob Sungmin Chae. 채성민

Mr. Chae, originally from Gunpo, South Korea, relocated to New York in 2013 following his completion of the freshman year at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul. In 2015, he obtained a certificate in theology from the Word of Life Bible Institute, New York, before earning a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Currently, Mr. Chae is pursuing a Master's Degree in Public Administration at Hamline University. Guided by his life philosophy, "Love to learn, learn to love," Mr. Chae's educational pursuits are driven by a desire to foster compassion and understanding among individuals. He actively engages in volunteer roles aimed at providing academic support to those in need.

Hayeon Lee

Ms. Heyeon Lee came to Minnesota in 2016 as an international student. Thanks She finished her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and She currently in the MCAD Master of Fine Arts program from 2022 to 2024. She is passion about to create design that visual interest and try something new every time.

Saw Tho Du Soe. 사토두소

Mr. Soe received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He believes in serving his community and has volunteered with Save the Boundary Waters, Regions Hospital, his local church and the YMCA. He has worked with students from elementary school through high school. Mr. Soe says, "I am passionate about my people. One day, I would like to return to my Karen homeland, KawThooLei, to help build the community there."


Building Maintenance

Earl Wilson. 얼 윌슨

Mr. Wilson is a certified 'Maintenance Magician' through the Magician's Institute of Teaneck (MIT). Trained to fix what's broken or make it disappear. In all seriousness though he has worked with Sejong Academy in various teaching roles. Prior to this Mr. Wilson has supported building operations for recreation centers, event venues, residential complexes, fitness facilities, and other various nonprofits. He looks forward to helping Sejong make the new school building into a safe and efficient place of learning.
